Google Analytics presentation to Joomla Chicago 

The slides from Avery Cohen's talk on Google Analytics to Chicago's Joomla User group are now on line. The talk used actual results and Google Analytics screens from the run-up to the CMS Expo that recently took place in Evanston. The talk was well-received and generated a lot of discussion. Dig in!

Google Analytics goes multi-dimensional, and more 

News out of eMetrics San Jose: Brett Crosby of Google Analytics announced new features for Google Analytics, including Pivoting and Secondary Dimensions, so that we can look at the relationship between two dimensions at once; Share Custom Reports and Advanced Segment Customizations, so I can port custom report structures I've built, and new ones now being made available, into other GA accounts via a URL; Manage Customizations Across Profiles, to do just what that says, especially useful if some custom reports would be nonsensical for certain profiles. Expect to see these over the next few weeks.

Avery is speaking at Joomla Chicago on January 14th 

My colleague and co-blogger Avery Cohen is presenting "Analytically Speaking: Using Google Analytics to Improve your Web-based Marketing Efforts" to the Joomla Chicago user group on January 14th, at the offices of the Acquity Group, 500 Madison Street in Chicago (that's the tower over the Ogilvie Transportation Center), at 12:10 pm. The talk will include a brief recap of his well-received Search Engine Optimization talk last fall. RSVP for Avery Cohen on Google Analytics and Web Marketing here.

For those of you interested in the Joomla Content Management System, there is also a Joomla 101 in the same room at 11 AM on 1/14. I've just built my third Joomla 1.5 site, so I know I'll be there.
